Polar Shades is capable of using several different types of fabrics on their Retractable Interior Shades. All of them have different properties and come in a variety of colors to match your every need. Below you will find a listing of some of the most popular fabrics we use:
Phifer Sheerware
PVC-coated fiberglass fabric offers substantial shading while allowing excellent outward visibility and improved daytime privacy.
Ferrari Soltis 86 and 92
With their remarkable design stability and peerless resistance, Soltis textiles have mechanical characteristics that explain their growing popularity with architects and building sector professionals.
Soltis 86, Soltis 92 textiles have technical features that provide an exceptional level of thermal protection. They constitute a real heat shield that helps maintain constant ambient temperatures indoors. Buildings become less sensitive to short-span daytime Temperatures swings, while comfort and atmosphere improve noticeably.
Soltis textiles not only stand up to major temperature swings - from -30° C to +70° C - while maintaining flexibility, but wind tunnel tests also evidence their extreme resistance to very strong winds.
Ferrari Soltis 99
The most recent technological innovations of the Ferrari process enables Soltis 99 to give a maximum amount of comfort. Installed inside, traditional textiles have solar factors which often exceed 40%. Combined with ¼ inch clear plate glass, Soltis 99 reaches a solar factor of 30%, i.e. considerably more efficient heat protection. Soltis 99 has a systematic metal side that makes it unique in the marketplace and is a now available in a variety of colors.
Mermet
Mermet Solar Control Fabrics have been developed to meet the demand for Retractable Shades that maximize heat and glare protection while preserving the view. Mermet Solar Control Fabrics can reduce energy consumption by between 23% and 60% depending on the color chosen. Mermet fabrics are available in a wide variety of weaves, openness factors, colors and roll widths (155cm-310cm). Over 200 colors are available to harmonize with all decor and architecture.
Phifer Suntex 80% and 90%
Phifer SunTex is a fabric woven of extremely strong and durable vinyl-coated polyester yarns. The uniform weave design offers excellent outward visibility and good ventilation. Shading is approximately 80 - 90 %, and SunTex is available in a choice of four earth tone colors. The fabric is also pet resistant making it ideal for use in doors and full-length screen panels.
Alkenz
Alkenz Sun Shadow Products are made of special PCV coated with various functional additives that make them long lasting, heat resistant, fire resistant, water proof, weather proof and wear resistant, while giving them greater tensile strength and UV stability. They come in a wide range of colors and several different degrees of openness which allows for use on almost any application. Both interior and exterior fabrics are available.
